The April Limited is a "mandarin" gin.
The mandarin oranges used were a variety called Mukaiyama Unshu, grown at Zenbei Farm, a citrus farm in Tamura, Wakayama Prefecture, that has been in existence for more than 200 years since Kyowa 3.
The peels from squeezing these whole oranges to make mandarin juice were used as botanicals for the gin.
The land of Tamura in Wakayama Prefecture is ideal for producing tasty mikans, with terraced fields surrounded by stone walls, good drainage, exposure to sunlight from various angles due to its topography, mineral-rich sea breezes, and reflected heat from the stone walls. This is why there are many tangerine fields in Tamura, and every year around Golden Week, tangerine flowers bloom and the whole area is filled with the sweet and sour aroma of tangerines.
This limited edition is a gin of mandarin oranges with a softly warm aroma that we hope you will drink while imagining such a scene.
