The May Limited is a "Chromodi" gin.
Gin lovers may have heard of this botanical.
Kuromoji, often used as a botanical in Japanese gin, is a camphoraceous tree native to the mountains of Japan that contains terpineol, linalool, cineole, and limonene, giving the plant a clean, fresh, yet luxurious and calming aroma.
Its branches are used as chopsticks and high-grade toothpicks, and Sen no Rikyu shaved fresh kuromoji twigs and served them with tea cakes.
The key botanical used in this gin is the aromatic chromophyll used in Japan since ancient times, this time from Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture. The refreshing aroma of kuromoji adds to YASO's alcohol, which contains plenty of mugwort, making it the perfect gin for the fresh green season.
