How are you all doing? My name is Yamada, and I will be in charge of this month's diary.
It's April, the cherry blossoms have begun to bloom, and we can now feel spring in full swing. In fact, I was in Takata from April 1 to 7 selling drinks. I thought it would be great to sell drinks while watching the cherry blossoms! But they started blooming late, and as of this writing (April 5), they are not in full bloom.
This month's Limited Edition is an energetic gin with a hint of spice and orange. We have added five spices and lemon peel to our regular orange gin.

We had been talking about making an arranged version of orange gin for some time and had an idea of what we wanted to make, so we were able to start selecting spices relatively quickly.
Five spices (vanilla, nutmeg, green pepper, cinnamon, and cardamom) are distilled by decompression distillation to extract the flavors of the ingredients themselves.
Everything was going well until the blending process. However, when we started blending, the taste was a little different from what we had imagined, and from there we had a lot of trouble.
The base spirit used to distill the orange and juniper parts is the same as in the previous Limited, but with more frequent distillation. The more neutral the base spirit, the more difficult it becomes to blend, as it becomes necessary to compensate for the connection of flavors and aromas. This makes it more challenging, but it takes up so much time that I wish I could spend 40 hours a day worrying about it.

After a lot of effort, such as adding a little lemon peel to tighten the overall flavor and filtering, we have created a gin with a strong orange flavor, rich vanilla aroma, and spice aroma, including the tangy spiciness of green pepper.

Many of you may be wondering why the name "The modulation"?
It reads "the modulation". The modulation is said to be the vibrato-like effect obtained by the temporary modulation of tone in music. The name was derived from the fact that the slight arrangement of the orange zine is similar to modulation. This is where the name "modulation" comes from.
A memorable event for me was that while tasting this gin, I was very much in the mood to listen to Japanese music.
I usually only listen to my favorite idol songs, but when I drank this month's limited, I naturally wanted to listen to some Japanese music or band songs that I used to listen to a while ago, and I was immersed in memories while listening to such songs in the car on the way home.
The sale will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15.
Why don't you all recharge your energy with orange and spice?
