The May Limited is a “Lindera umbellata” gin.
Gin lovers may have heard of this botanical.
Lindera umbellata, often used as a botanical in Japanese gin, is a camphoraceous tree native to the mountains of Japan that contains terpineol, linalool, cineole, and limonene, giving the plant a clean, fresh, yet luxurious and calming aroma.
It is said that Sen no Rikyu shaved a branch of kuromoji and served it with tea sweets.
The key botanical used in this project is the aromatic Lindera umbellata, which has been used in Japan since ancient times and is produced in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture.
YASO’s alcohol, which contains plenty of wormwood as an ingredient, is combined with the fresh aroma of kuromoji, making this gin perfect for the fresh green season.
