July’s limited edition gin is spice-scented “Revival Cola
One of the prototypes before YASO was launched was a spicy “cola-like” gin, and we have recreated this fantastic gin.
We challenged ourselves to recreate this limited-edition gin, partly to test our skills and see what would happen if we made it with today’s distillation and blending technologies, which have improved in the three years since YASO’s release. At that time, spices were distilled in a large, decompression-type distiller, so we used a decompression-type distiller for the spice parts of this gin in order to reproduce the same aroma. This time, the spice parts were blended with juniper berry parts by rotating a small distiller several times and extracting the spice parts.
The juicy lemon and orange parts were then added, resulting in a spicy, citrusy, and deep gin that is perfect for the coming season.
