First in Japan] "YASO," a craft gin brand of Niigata and Echigo herbal medicinal herbs, won the Gold Award for Absinthe at IWSC 2022, the world's most prestigious and longest-established liquor competition!

(President: Kazushi Tsukada, Head Office: Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture) has won the Gold Award at the IWSC 2022, one of the world's three major alcoholic beverage competitions, for its "Absinthe" liquor made mainly from wormwood!

 YASO SPIRITS is made from absinthe distilled from wild herbs such as wormwood, aniseed, and star anise, and infused with fresh spearmint, shiso leaves, and rosemary.
Spearmint, shiso leaves, and rosemary used for maceration are pesticide-free and grown in Myoko, Niigata Prefecture.
In addition to the fresh and invigorating fragrance, the liquid color is characterized by natural tints derived from botanical ingredients.
The change to a milky white color has been improved to achieve an ideal rise.

SPIRIT Category Concurrently Awarded Products
In addition to the Gold Award-winning YASO Absinthe Prototype 03, four other products received Bronze Awards in the SPIRIT category.

YASO GIN 100   
Based on the concept of herbs and flowers, lavender, chamomile, jasmine, and rose were used as botanicals, and the proportions were adjusted and distilled so that the gorgeous fragrance would spread.

YASO 80 SPIRITS
Yomogi is also known as the "king of wild plants. This distilled liquor is made from 80 different ingredients, mainly high-quality mugwort that grows wild in the Joetsu region of Niigata Prefecture, and is slowly fermented and aged in a ceramic pot over a period of one year before the alcohol content is extracted.


YASO GIN 2022
The distillation method was devised to achieve a clear, light mouthfeel, and juniper berries and spices were lightly crushed by hand to enhance the aroma while increasing the filtering process to achieve a clear, transparent flavor.

YASO SPIRITS LEMON
The refreshing lemongrass aroma of the rare Margao and the fresh, whole, domestic, pesticide-free lemon botanicals give it a distinctly fresh lemon flavor.


Spirits", "Gin", and "Absinthe" were created by using alcohol produced as a byproduct in the process of manufacturing health foods (enzyme products) made from 80 kinds of wild herbs, and are the one and only alcohol produced by Echigo Yakuso, which has been researching wild herbal enzymes for over 40 years with health as its theme.

We have previously received the Bronze Award at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC). This year, we are honored to have received awards for all of the five products we entered in the competition.
