YES DOG GIN
Tatsumi Distillery: Mr. Shohei Tatsumi
Spring 2018 marks five years since we launched Inu Chari Gin, distilled exclusively from shochu and juniper berries. Simple goodness is good, but botanical-filled goodness is good, too. That's why we are proud to announce the birth of the new YES DOG from Inukariya.
The aroma of botanicals felt through the distillation of the four seasons and the encounter with THE HERBALIST YASO (spirits) of Echigo Yakuso Co. 80 kinds of wild herbs and other plants were fermented, aged and distilled into spirits, and about 20 kinds of botanicals were mainly distilled, resulting in a freshness like a water vein and the illusion (dog shadow) of the plants. The result is a flavor with the appearance of a vein of water and the phantom of a plant (dog shadow).

The label painting is by Naoya Oshima, a current art student.
When I first met him two years ago at the Gujo-Hachiman Mugishu Kobo Kobo, he was painting pictures of coffee and beer by adding coffee to his paints and using Japanese painting techniques. I was interested in his work, but more than anything, I was impressed by the imaginative power (the balance between necessity and coincidence) that he had within him. When we decided to collaborate with Echigo Yakuso this time, Mr. Oshima's face was the first thing that came to mind. Before the distillation of this gin began, when the drawing arrived at the distillery, as if the image of the quality of the liquor appeared directly as a dog, I could clearly see the YES DOG within me.

We invite you to experience GIN at its finest!
