Craft Gin Brand “YASO” to Exhibit at Whisky Festival 2022!


Institute of Whiskey Culture holds its first Whiskey Festival in two years!

The craft gin brand YASO will be exhibiting at the Whiskey Festival 2022 in Tokyo, marking the first time YASO has participated in an offline event.

Five items will be on display, including “YASO Absinthe Prototype 03,” which won the Gold Award at IWSC 2022, the world’s leading sake competition, as well as four other representative YASO products.

【Items to be exhibited】

” Mugwort” is also called “the king of wild plants. This distilled spirit is made by fermenting and maturing 80 different ingredients, mainly high-quality mugwort that grows wild in the Joetsu region of Niigata Prefecture, in a ceramic jar for one year to extract the alcohol content.

●YASO GIN 2022
The distillation method was modified to enhance the aroma by lightly crushing juniper berries and spices by hand, while increasing the number of filtration steps to achieve a clear and transparent flavor.

This GIN is specially distilled for overseas use. Based on the concept of herbs and flowers, lavender, chamomile, jasmine, and rose were used as botanicals, and the proportions were adjusted and distilled so that the gorgeous fragrance would spread.

The refreshing lemongrass aroma of rare maqaw and botanicals made from fresh, whole, domestic, pesticide-free lemons create a fresh lemon flavor.

●YASO Absinthe Prototype 03
YASO SPIRITS is a liquor made by macerating fresh spearmint, shiso leaves, and rosemary in absinthe, which is distilled from wild herbs such as nigger wormwood, aniseed, and star anise.
In addition to its fresh and invigorating aroma, the liquid color is characterized by the natural hue derived from botanical ingredients. The change to a milky white color has been improved to achieve an ideal rise.
