THE HERBALIST YASO GIN FRESH, the fourth gin in THE HERBALIST YASO GIN series, will go on sale on July 10.

A fresh, floral aroma reminiscent of flowers blooming by the water. It features notes of juniper berries combined with the savory flavors of cucumber and melon, followed by a gentle, lingering aftertaste of rose geranium and lavender.

Like the other products in the YASO GIN series, THE HERBALIST YASO GIN FRESH is crafted using a blending process.

Each botanical—such as juniper berries, cucumber, melon, and rose geranium—is distilled individually. We also tailor the distillation method to each botanical and spice, using techniques such as atmospheric distillation and vacuum distillation to extract the desired flavors and aromas.

We’ve paid particular attention to the distillation method for the cucumbers this time. The cucumber’s fresh, crisp aroma and its distinctive flavor, which combines saltiness and bitterness. To extract both of these qualities, we steeped round slices of cucumber in the base spirit. Furthermore, we packed the distillation basket to the brim with cucumbers and proceeded with the distillation. When tasting the distillate made solely from cucumbers, it tastes exactly like cucumber itself.

A robust core of juniper berries blends with the freshness of cucumber and the green notes and umami of melon to form the foundation of the flavor. Floral elements such as rose geranium, lavender, and white magnolia add a vibrant touch to the overall composition.

By adding lemon, cinnamon, and green coriander, we’ve imparted a subtle spiciness that neatly rounds out the finish, resulting in FRESH—a floral-style gin that embodies the essence of YASO GIN.

We recommend enjoying it as a gin and tonic. Pour the fresh gin into a tall glass filled with ice, top it off with tonic water, and the pleasant fizz of the carbonation will tickle your nose with its floral aroma.
